It looks like the head of the second largest mutual fund company (and largest 401(k) recordkeeper) in the world has made her choice for President of the United States for the 2016 election.
| Jeb Bush 43rd Governor of Florida | |
Greg Ryan of the
Boston Business Journal reports that, per campaign finance records,
Fidelity [
profile] president and CEO
Abby Johnson has contributed the personal maximum ($2,700) to former Florida governor
Jeb Bush's campaign. One-time Fido bigwig and current
Putnam chief
Bob Reynolds has
publicly supported Jeb Bush, too, though the paper hasn't any record of Reynolds donating to Bush yet.
Oh, and Fidelity's political action committee has donated to two other Republican presidential candidates: $5,000 to Senator
Marco Rubio (also from Florida) and $3, 500 to Senator
Rand Paul (Kentucky).
Fundsters may not be surprised by Johnson's support for Bush. In 2004 she contributed to the reelection campaign of Bush's brother, then-President George W. Bush. In 2012 she contributed to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney's campaign.
