MFEA Narrows It Down to Three Do-Gooders

Three finalists are vying for the Mutual Fund Education Alliance's (MFEA) do-gooder star: Hennessy, Aberdeen, and Natixis.

The three were announced as the national finalists for the 2013 Community Investment Award, presented as part of the MFEA’s annual STAR Awards.

  The Community Investment Award annually to recognize an asset management company for its outstanding community service contributions such as special programs, partnerships, in-kind support of goods and services, employee volunteerism or other activities that have a positive impact on their community.

The 2013 finalists and their programs are:
  • Aberdeen Asset Management for the Aberdeen Charitable Foundation
  • Hennessy Funds for its Community & Volunteer Programs
  • Natixis Global Asset Management for the John Winthrop Elementary School Partnership

      “Mutual fund companies have always been among leading corporate organizations, supporting and sponsoring vital programs that benefit their communities,” stated MFEA director Kimber Lintz. “The Community Investment Award acknowledges the outstanding philanthropic efforts of asset management companies who distinguish themselves, not only by committing their financial support, but by engaging their employees and demonstrating the best in corporate citizenship.”

    Three Company Finalists Announced 2013 Community Investment Award



      The Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA) has announced the three national finalists for the 2013 Community Investment Award, presented as part of the MFEA’s annual STAR Awards.

      The STAR Awards program, now in its 17th year, presents the prestigious Community Investment Award annually to recognize an asset management company for its outstanding community service contributions such as special programs, partnerships, in-kind support of goods and services, employee volunteerism or other activities that have a positive impact on their community.

    ??The 2013 finalists and their programs are:

      The recipient of this year’s Community Investment Award will be announced, along with other STAR Awards winners, as part of the STAR Awards Celebration which will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago on October 23.

      The STAR Awards honors the fund industry and its firms for extraordinary efforts to communicate with and market to investors, advisors and plan participants. Over the years the STAR Awards program has distinguished itself as the premier fund industry competition, recognizing the accomplishments of asset management firms, fund company executives and their teams.
