Jim Pavia, who had served as editorial director of
InvestmentNews for over a year, and before that editor of the publication for over nine years, has left to join
CNBC in a senior position within its digital department.
Pavia will serve in the newly-created position of senior-editor-at-large, where he be in charge of news outlet's coverage of financial advisers and their clients on a number of platforms.
He will start in his new job on July 29 and report to
Steve Lewis, senior executive producer, Strategic Content & News Partnerships.
Before working at
InvestmentNews, he worked at
Miller-Freeman/VNU, where he served as editor-in-chief for
Bank System and Technology, as well as the
New York Daily News, and the
National Sports Daily. He had also served as an adjunct professor in English and Journalism at
St. John's University.
