TheStreet names six mutual funds headed by star mutual fund PMs who saw their worst this year. The unfortunate half dozen fell victim to a no-show economic recovery, a problematic financial industry and record volatility.
The six include:
Lawrence Auriana and Hans Utsch, PMs of Federated Kaufmann (KAUAX) [profile], who turned in a negative 14 percent return;
Dan Frascarelli, PM of Lord Abbett Affiliated (LAFFX) [profile] since 2009 (his return: -9.8 percent);
Lawrence Rakers, PM of Fidelity Dividend Growth (FDGKX) [profile], which fell by 10.7 percent this year;
Bruce Berkowitz (no surprise here), whose Fairholme Fund (FAIRX) [profile] lost 30.6 percent; and
Brent Lynn, PM of Janus Overseas (JDIAX) [profile] and who is not likely to make long-time shareholders forget Helen Young Hayes with his 32 percent loss so far in 2011.
