Franklin Templeton has opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,
Asian Investor reports. San Mateo, California-headquartered Franklin follows in the footsteps of other asset managers such as Aberdeen Asset Management,
Nomura Asset Management, BNP Paribas Asset Management
and Credit Agricole Asset Management.
"Malaysia has a maturing economy, an established investment management market and expertise in Islamic finance, making it a key market on our radar screen as we expand our business in the region," the article quoted Franklin's managing director
for Asia,
Mark Browning, as saying.
Franklin also has offices in other countries in the Asia-Pacific region such as China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam and Australia.
