Hypatia Capital Management LLC launched its first ETF, the Hypatia Women CEO ETF (WCEO), in January 2023. The team describes the asset manager as focusing on investing in companies with female CEOs and balanced management teams. (The firm's namesake was a female mathematician in fifth century Egypt.)
HCML (which dates back to 2015) is a subsidiary of Hypatia Capital Group LLC, which managing member Patricia Lizarraga founded in 2007. (Lizarraga is a veteran of the merchant banking business.) HCG has a CEO-level female executive network. HCG also powers a pair of indexes, in partnership with Wilshire, that debuted in 2021. HCG also has a hedge fund initiative, the Hypatia Women Fund Managers I.
