Randy Swan founded his eponymous firm in 1997. The ETF strategist launched its first mutual fund in 2012, and by 2019 it offered five open-end mutual funds.
Based in Durango, Colorado but with a significant Puerto Rico presence, Swan Global Investments offers a proprietary approach, its Defined Risk Strategy (DRS), which powers its mutual funds and models. They mix ETFs with options as a hedge, then sell those options for a profit during market swoons and reinvest.
