Background:

Gerald Perritt founded the Chicago-based Perritt Capital Management in 1987.
The Perritt manages small/microcap portfolios using a nine-factor investment process. It offers separate accounts and two small/micro cap mutual funds, the Perritt MicroCap Opportunities Fund and the Perritt Emerging Opportunities Fund.
In August 2010, Perritt inked a tentative agreement that will transfer control of the firm to chief investment officer Michael Corbett. The transaction was completed October 5. Corbett now also serves as president and CEO and owns a 50.5 percent stake in Perritt Capital's parent firm, Investment Information Services.
