Background:
|
In 1972 Richard Fischer, Stephen Francis, James Trees and John Watts founded Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, an institutional, active, fixed-income asset manager, focused on US and short-term fixed income.
In 1989, FFTW added a London operation, and a Singapore branch followed suit in 1995. Now, as of September 30, 2011, FFTW boasted $54 billion in assets under management, with 53 percent of its client assets coming from outside the Americas.
FFTW hooked up with BNP Paribas in 1999, and the global French bank took over FFTW outright in 2006.
In the mutual fund world, FFTW sub-advises currency alpha, emerging market and global bonds, inflation linked and short duration strategies. Its sub-advisory clients include its parent, as well as Deutsche Bank's DWS Investments [profile].
