An article, entitled “Small Firm’s Employees Stung by Lost Retirement Money”, describes how the employees of Emergi-Lite lost most of their assets in their defined contribution plan. According to the article, these participants received numerous reports that their funds were growing, but apparently the plan provider, Moore Benefits System, had made a bad investment in 1992 with Executive Life insurance contracts and did not inform participants, stated the article.
