Harvey Pitt has joined the board of Approva Corporation. The Vienna, Virginia-headquartered software company provides tools companies can use to test and manage their financial controls. These tools are gaining new attention because of the Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 rule that upped compliance requirements.

Pitt is a former chairman of the SEC and prior to that, a partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson.
