A European multinational asset manager's chief on this side of the pond is on the rise.
This month,
Chris Demetriou took over at Standard Life Aberdeen (which uses the
Aberdeen Standard Investments [
profile] brand for its asset management arm) as CEO for Africa, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom, as
expected. Philadelphia-based Demetriou most recently served as CEO for the Americas alone.
In his expanded role, Demetriou succeeds
Gary Marshall, head of EMEA and the UK, who is retiring this year. Years ago, Marshall
served as head of the Americas for Aberdeen Asset Management, which is now part of Standard Life Aberdeen.
Demetriou joined what is now Standard Life Aberdeen in 2014. Prior to that he worked with SVG Capital and EY.
Marshall has served in a variety of Aberdeen (and Standard Life Aberdeen) roles since joining in 1997, including group head of product, head of collective funds, head of sales and marketing, and more.
