Two Schiff Hardin Fund Lawyers Join Sullivan

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

A pair of mutual fund industry lawyers in the Big Apple recently shifted to Sullivan & Worcester LLP.

Domenick Pugliese
Sullivan & Worcester LLP
Partner, Investment Management Group
Dom Pugliese recently joined Sullivan as a partner in the investment management group, and Pugliese's colleague, Rachael Schwartz, joined as counsel, Sullivan managing partner Joel Carpenter confirms today. Pugliese and Schwartz most recently worked with Schiff Hardin.

Schwartz did not immediately return a call for comment. David Leahy partner and co-leader of Sullivan's investment management group, did not immediately return a call for comment. Marguerite Bateman, partner and practice group leader for financial markets and products at Schiff Hardin, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Rachael L. Schwartz
Sullivan & Worcester LLP
Counsel, Investment Management Group
David Mahaffey, managing partner of Sullivan's Washington, D.C. office and co-leader of the law firm's investment management group, lauds Pugliese and Schwartz for their "extensive experience in the '40 Act area."

"We're very pleased to have them both," Mahaffey tells MFWire.

Sullivan's investment management group now includes nine partners, two counsel, one associate, and one paralegal, Mahaffey says. Watch for him and Leahy to continue to expand the group.

Carpenter puts the addition of Schwartz and Pugliese in the context of Sullivan's "rapidly expanding New York office."

"A key component of the firm's growth strategy is to expand our New York presences for marquee practice groups like investment management," Carpenter states, lauding Pugliese and Schwartz as "veteran practitioners."

"I've worked with several lawyers on Sullivan's investment management team and am happy now to be able to call them colleagues," Pugliese states.

Pugliese, an alumnus of George Washington University Law School and of Binghampton University, has worked with Schiff Hardin since 2016. Prior to that, he worked with Paul Hastings, US Trust, Alliance Capital, Prudential, Batle Fowler, and Seyfarth Schaw.

Schwartz — an alumna of Washington University in St. Louis' Law School, of Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and of Wellesley College — worked alongside Pugliese at both Schiff Hardin and Paul Hastings. Prior to that she worked with Vanguard and ADVO.
