Fundsters who are avid watchers of
Mario Gabelli might want to take a look at a recent
Forbes article.
| Mario Gabelli GAMCO Founder, Chairman, CEO | |
The publication profiles
Nicholas Galluccio, the 68-year-old president and CEO of
Teton Advisors, a publicly traded
Gamco spinoff 51-percent owned by Gabelli (and 20 percent owned by Galluccio). Teton's stock has grown more than 17-fold since the spinoff nine years ago, and the small-cap value specialist now has $3.3 billion in AUM.
The article includes the usual PM profile tidbits, like investing and favorite stock picks. Yet the piece also gives fundsters a glimpse into Galluccio's history: from guitar teacher, to English literature student (and master's degree holder), to journalist, to MBA, to Lehman Brothers analyst, to TCW, and finally to Teton in 2007. The article also mentions Teton's integration of
Keely Asset Management, which Teton bought in 2017.
