Company: Closed-End Fund Association (CEFA)

Appointment: Rennie McConnochie

On August 8 the CEFA welcomes Rennie McConnochie as their executive president. In this role he will bring together asset managers and constituents who support closed-end funds. McConnochie is the head of global banks at Aberdeen Asset Management, and before that was a partner at RP Capital.

Company: J O Hambro

Appointment: Giorgio Caputo and Lale Topcuoglu

On August 7 J O Hambro Capital Management Group (JOHCM) appointed Giorgio Caputo and Lale Topcuoglu to lead the launch of a global multi-asset income investment strategy. Caputo, starting yesterday, will lead the global multi-asset team in the New York office. He previously worked as a PM and senior analyst with First Eagle Investment Management. Topcuoglu will be head of credit, also in the New York office, and will join on September 1 after 17 years with Goldman Sachs.

Appointment: Pamela Murray

On August 1 BNY Mellon Wealth Management named Pamela Murray managing director of business development in Boston. Murray will report to Vicary Graham, president of the New England office. Murray has over 28 years of experience in financial services and sales.

Fund:Steadfast Alcentra Global Credit Fund

Appointment: Michael Tamasco

On August 1 Alcentra Global Credit Fund, a fund advised by Steadfast Investment Adviser and sub-advised by Alcentra NY, a BNY Mellon investment boutique, named Michael Tamasco president of the fund. Tamasco will also work as president of Steadfast Investment Adviser.

Company: Nationwide

Appointment: Mark Hackett

On August 2 Nationwide named Mark Hackett chief of investment research. Hackett will report to Christopher Graham, chief investment officer at Nationwide. Hackett has over 17 years of experience in the asset management industry, including in Nuveen and Vanguard Group.

Company: SEC

Leaving:

On August 3 David Grim is leaving the SEC as director of the division of investment management. He has worked more than 20 years of public service. Grim joined the SEC in 1995. He graduated cum laude in political science at Duke University and received his law degree from George Washington University.
