More than 2,000 financial advisors, plus fundsters from about 70 fund firms and other FA allies, are converging in Southern California for the rest of the week.

Pershing CEO Lisa Dolly and her team are kicking off Pershing Insite 2017 in San Diego today. The broker-dealer and RIA clearing and custody ally (and BNY Mellon's subsidiary) is hosting its three-day conference at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. Pre-conference sessions begin this morning, and the main event starts up this afternoon and continues through mid-day on Friday. Tomorrow night Pershing will take over a city block in San Diego's Gaslamp district for the closing Insite Block Party.

More than 100 speakers are scheduled to make appearances at this year's conference. Pershing-related executives expected to speak include: John Brett, managing director of Pershing and chairman of Pershing sibling Lockwood Advisors; Jim Crowley, Pershing's chief relationship officer; Jeffrey McCarthy, BNY Mellon's CEO of ETFs; Ram Nagappan, Pershing's chief information officer; Mark Santero, CEO of BNY Mellon's Dreyfus; Joan Schwartz, Pershing's chief legal officer and managing director; Tom Sholes, managing director at Pershing; and Mark Tibergien, CEO of Pershing Advisor Solutions.

Other speakers expected on the main stage at Pershing Insite include: Pimm Fox, co-host of Bloomberg Markets on Bloomberg Radio; Oscar Salazar Gaitan, founding architect at Uber; Rana el Kaliouby, co-founder and CEO of Affectiva; Jack Lew, former U.S. Treasury Secretary; Carol Masar, co-anchor of Bloomberg Markets on Bloomberg Radio; Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit; Bud Person, executive vice president of the wealth management and cash division at Federated; Wesley Phoa, PM at Capital Group; Platon, renowned portrait photographer; Brian Wesbury, chief economist at First Trust; and Serena Williams pro-tennis star.

Bloomberg Media, Dreyfus, Federated, and First Trust are all big sponsors of the conference.

For 2018, Pershing Insite will return to Orlando from June 6-8 at the Hyatt Regency.
