Dan Chung and his team have a new message for advisors, investors, the financial press, and the marketplace: "think further."
Yesterday Chung, CEO and chief investment officer of New York City-based
Alger [
profile], and his hosted a press event to introduce reporters to the mutual fund shop's new "Think Further" campaign. The message, which Alger is promoting via a new
ThinkFurtherAlger.com site, is all about encouraging people to think about the future, specifically the future of 50 years from now.
Last night at a screening room in the Tribeca neighborhood of downtown Manhattan, the Alger team showed 15 reporters short films of three futurists, like medical expert Dr.
Daniel Kraft from the FutureMed program at Singularity University, sharing their predictions about what 2064 might hold for their fields. After a Q&A session with Chung and one of the other featured futurists, energy innovator
Donald Sadoway of MIT, the discussions continued informally in a cocktail reception. Reporters enjoyed some wine and shell fish (and other appetizers, too) while mingling with academics as well as PMs and others on the Alger team.
The campaign launch comes a year after
Jeanne Sdroulas joined Alger as head of marketing.
