Watch out everyone, the maitresse of mutual fund reporting is back.

Jessica Toonkel, the veteran Reuters correspondent and scoops-master, who had left the mutual fund beat at the end of 2012 to cover mergers and acquisitions, is back to covering mutual funds, MFWire has learned.

Toonkel has been at Reuters for three years now.

Before that, she had worked as a reporter for InvestmentNews, and before that was New York bureau chief for Workforce Management Magazine.

She also served stints as managing editor at Institutional Investor, a reporter at American Banker, and an associate editor at America Lawyer.
