Never mind plastics, Benjamin Braddock. Think diapers.
That was one of the insights provided by
GAMCO's Mario Gabelli during CNBC‘s “Fast Money: Halftime Report” with Scott Wapner,
writes Brendan Conway. Gabelli, who is a Barron’s Roundtable member, argued that diapers are dependable business because of the aging boomer demographic worldwide. Diapers are already a $36 billion business globally, of which $14 billion is for the adult variety. Over 100 million people alive today are over 80 years, Gabelli is quoted as arguing. That number will move towards 400 million in the coming years.
