What a night it was, with over 300 awards honoring 89 fund firms in over 100 different fund categories.
So, who cleaned out at the
2013 Fund Awards Ceremony hosted by
Lipper yesterday in New York City?
The Lipper Fund Awards are part of the Thomson Reuters Awards for Excellence, a global family of awards that celebrate exceptional performance throughout the professional investment community.
First, eight group awards were presented to eight different firms:
Equity Large 3 Years: PIMCO [profile]
Equity Small 3 Years: Causeway Capital Management [profile]
Fixed Income Large 3 Years: OppenheimerFunds [profile]
Fixed Income Small 3 Years: Commerce Investment Advisors [profile]
Mixed Assets Large 3 Years: Principal Management Corporation [profile]
Mixed Assets Small 3 Years: OpFunds sibling MassMutual Retirement Services [profile]
Overall Large 3 Years: TIAA-CREF [profile]
Overall Small 3 Years: Delaware Management Company [profile]
Besides the overall awards, Lipper also presented awards in a variety of classifications, raining from
Absolute Return Funds to
Real Estate Funds to
Utility Funds, and so on. Many of these classifications were then broken down into various age groups, usually 3-, 5-, and 10-years, although some only accounted for 3- and 5-years, and a few just had 3-years. Adding all these awards together, along with the overall, and you get over 300.
