There's bad press, there's good press, and then there's Steve Forbes' recent interview with Ariel Investments [profile] PM Rupal Bhansali, who runs the firm's international and global strategies.

Entitled "Hedge Fund Returns With Mutual Fund Fees! How One Global Equity Master Does It," the interview is -- ahem -- not the most hard-hitting. Forbes adopts the gentle tone that interviewers usually only use with refugees and tornado victims, and his line of questioning is full of so many softballs that he makes Barbara Walters look like Hunter S. Thompson.

Here's Forbes' first question:

"Rupal, you've had quite a record over the years. One, how do you do it, and two it is sustainable?"

Then the interview goes on for three pages.
