Invesco has taken the wraps off the
Invesco Premium Income Fund.
The fund, seeded with a little more than $100 million, is organized into two portfolios: a high-income portfolio and government bond portfolio.
"We recognize how important income is," said
Scott Wolle, CIO of Invesco Global Asset Allocation and the fund's lead manager, in an interview.
"We recognize that part of the pursuit of income should include a real attempt to preserve investor capital as well."
The idea for the fund was born about a year ago, said Wolle.
"We had discussions about asset allocation and how do we take the set of skills we have and apply them to areas such as income."
The fund's portfolio management team also includes Peter Ehret, head of high yield investments; Claudia Calich, head of emerging markets debt; Peter Hubbard
of the preferred equity team and nine PMs from the Invesco global asset allocation,
fixed income and preferred equity teams.
