Fundsters interested in the
Vice Fund [see profile] or in
Virtus Investment Partners [see profile] may want to take a look at the
New York Times. On Saturday Jeff Sommer
profiled the second quarter's two top performing domestic mutual funds: the two-star, $76.5-million
Virtus Small-Cap Sustainable Growth Fund (which gained 8.43 percent in Q2) and
USA Mutuals' four-star, $85.8-million
Vice Fund (which gained 6.64 percent).
Sommer plays on the contrast between Virtus and Vice, though he notes that this Virtus fund is not actually an SRI (socially responsible investing) fund.
Virtus Small-Cap Sustainable Growth co-PM
Jon Christensen, Virtus spokesman Joe Fazzino, Vice PM
Gerald Sullivan, USA Mutuals president
Jerry Szilagyi and
US SIF (The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment) research director
Meg Voorhes all talked with Sommer for the article.
