Starting at 2 p.m. today, the SEC led by chairman
Mary Schapiro will conduct a three-hour roundtable on money market funds and systemic risk.
The roundtable, which will be available by Webcast on the SEC's Web site, will tackle topics such as potential for money market funds to pose a systemic risk to broader financial markets. Panelists will also
discuss possible options for further regulatory reform and their implications, including floating NAV and bank regulations, among others.
Panelists from the industry include
Robert Brown, president of the money market group at Fidelity Management & Research Company
and
Seth Bernstein, global head of fixed income at JPMorgan Asset Management.
