Vanguard plans to launch ETFs in Europe this year, Bloomberg reports. BlackRock is the current leader in the European ETF market.

"We'd like to be a global ETF player and our goal is to have a significant presence in Europe, particularly in the U.K.," Thomas Rampulla, head of Vanguard's European operations, told Bloomberg.
