Mirae Asset Global Investments, a new player in the U.S. mutual fund market, is looking for additional office space as it continues to build its national accounts and hybrid wholesaler teams.
Last week, Mirae named the new hires that national sales manager Vince Leon referred to in a
mid-October MFWire.com story.
Robert Mulligan, Leon's fellow GE Asset Management alum, joined as senior vice president, strategic relationship manager. Mirae also has three hybrid wholesalers, formally called emerging market specialists: Legg Mason alum
Matthew Brancato covers the East Coast, MFS alum Peter Corritori covers the West Coast and Prudential Investments alum
Jennifer Fuentes covers the Central region.
Before the year is over, Mirae hopes to add two more emerging market specialists and two more strategic relationship managers, Leon said in an interview on Monday.
By the end of next year, Leon envisions having a total of 20 emerging market specialists. The firm might also add one more strategic relationship manager next year.
Demand for Mirae's offerings "exceeded our most optimistic forecasts," Leon said.
"We're looking into getting more office space," he said. Mirae's US headquarters is located on the 39th floor of the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan.
Mirae launched six mutual funds in the U.S. in late September. At last count, AUM across the six totaled $65 million.
