Jim Moffett, PM of the $6.7 billion
Scout International Fund [
see profile], is the subject of a
profile by
Barron's writer Neil Martin. The 69-year-old
Moffett has been at the helm of the fund for 17 years.
"We've pretty much stuck to our guns over the years. It may not be sexy, but I sleep better at night," Moffett tells the pub.
The article looks at Moffett's holdings, such as U.S. mobile-phone service provider Millicom and Japan-based robotics and automated machine maker
Fanuc. Moffett also says he continues to find opportunities in Greece and other Mediterranean countries.
On a personal note, Moffett enjoys working on a small farming plot in southwestern Kansas. He finds it "relaxing and fun, but it's not productive enough that I can give up my day job."
