Calamos Asset Management saw revenues of $81.1 million and operating income of $30.5 million in the period ended March 31. In the first quarter of 2009, Calamos reported revenue of $59.6 million.
$58.8 million of the Q1 2010 revenue came from investment management fees.
The open-end mutual fund business had $20 billion of assets under management at quarter-end on March 31. During the same period in 2009, AUM totaled $13.3 billion.
Total AUM for Calamos Asset Management reached $33.0 billion, an increase of $249 million (1 percent) from Q4 2009. Year-over-year, AUM increased by $9.9 billion from $23.1 billion.
