Deutsche Asset Management has tapped
William Shiebler to be the ceo of its Americas unit. Shiebler will report to
Tom Hughes, president of Deutsche Asset Management.
Shiebler is the former president and ceo of
Putnam Mutual Funds. He served at that firm for 10 years.
The executive will be in charge of the combined Deutsche Asset Management and Scudder Investments retail and institutional businesses when the merger of the two companies is complete. He will have oversight for all asset management matters in the Americas. Shiebler is also a veteran of
Dean Witter Reynolds.
