New York City-headquartered
Bramwell Funds has named
Don Allison to the post of executive vice president, Allison told the MutualFundWire.com. He replaces
Mary McCollum, who has retired.
Allison joined the firm in October and assumed McCollum's position earlier this year. He joins Bramwell from Global Arbitrage Asset Management. Allison holds the title of executive vice president for administration and client services, and one of the areas of his responsibility is marketing.
One product the executive is focusing on right now is Bramwell's new
Coverdell Savings Account, an educational IRA. "We are getting the word out to fund investors about the opportunities of the Coverdell Account, which is an educational IRA. There has not been the attention in the media given to educational IRAs that has been give to 529 plans. But the amount of assets that can be invested in an educational IRA has jumped from $500 ot $2,000 a year," Allison explained.
And as for McCollum, "She is in Florida working on improving her handicap."
