Arnold Scott, a senior executive at MFS Investment Management in charge of strategic planning retired this month, according to industry reports.

Scott, an executive vice president, was a member of the by the Boston-based firm's management committee and a director of the firm's international unit. He will not be replaced.

He reported to Jeff Shames, president.
