Thanks to their size, some mutual funds drew in seemingly large (i.e. $100 million-plus) fees in 2008, even as their performance suffered. MarketWatch's Sam Mamudi tars several large American Funds and Fidelity offerings, though he does note that those fees were still substantially lower thanks to the funds' lower assets.
