Heartland Advisors plans to grow its sales and marketing team. The Milwaukee-based value shop is planning to add "one or two people" to the group, said
Dave Ribbens, senior vice president of sales and marketing, in an interview with
The MFWire.
At present, there are a dozen people on the team.
Heartland has kicked off a search to add to the part of the team that focuses on the direct channel. There are 25,000 accounts in this channel, Ribbens said.
The firm has four other points of distribution: institutional, platforms, RIAs and high net worth.
Beyond that search, Heartland may make another staff addition either on the direct side or on the high net worth side, said Ribbens, who ran retail distribution at US Bank subsidiary FAF Advisors before joining Heartland in June of last year.
Heartland manages $2 billion of assets across its three mutual funds.
