Joe Nelson joined BlackRock earlier this month as an advisor consultant following a brief stint at Baron Capital, The MFWire has learned. He covers independent advisors in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Nelson could not immediately be reached for comment. A BlackRock spokesperson was not immediately able to comment.

At Baron, Nelson served as western regional director of sales. He was replaced in that role by Kevin Hart, according to a Baron spokesperson.

Prior to joining Baron Capital this summer, Nelson spent 12 years at Eaton Vance Corp., and earlier he worked at Transamerica.
