Legg Mason is subletting two floors in its namesake tower in Baltimore to the John Hopkins Carey Business School,
The Baltimore Sun reported.
The fund firm has been wanting to sublet the 12th and 13th floors and one other floor after realizing that it did not need that space, according to the report. Legg currently
occupies 10 1/2 floors in the 24-story Legg Mason Tower. The firm last year cut its headcount against the backdrop of the financial crisis.
Opportunities for interactions between students and Legg Mason employees are among the building's draws,
Yash Gupta, dean of the Carey School, was quoted in the article as saying.
The school will take a total of four floors in the building. The move will take place next fall.
