Morgan Stanley reports that its net income for the 1st quarter of 2002 was $848 million. This is a 3% drop from the 4th quarter 2001 and a 21% drop from the 1st quarter 2001. Diluted earnings per share were $0.76, compared to $0.78 the previous quarter and $0.94 a year ago.
