MADISON, Wis., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. Nichols, a senior member of the Board of Directors, was named Chairman of the Board of Thompson Plumb Funds, Inc. at the January 2009 meeting. Mr. Nichols has served as a Director on the Board since 1987 and currently serves on both the audit and nominating committees. Mr. Nichols holds a bachelors, masters and doctoral degree in Economics from Yale University. Prior to his retirement, he was the Director of the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin from 2002 to 2006 and also served as a Professor of Economics from 1966 to 2006 holding the Chairman of the Department of Economics role from 1983 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1990. Mr. Nichols will take an active role in the funds and provide assistance in the area of shareholder communications.
