BrokerageAmerica has named
Peter Battaglia as its new vice president of broker/dealer sales, the executive told the MutualFundWire.com. Battaglia joins the firm from a division of
Deutsche Bank.
"My immediate objective is to get the word out to the broker/dealer community. Basically, I will be marketing myself and the product. There will be a number of in-town visits and dinners. I am working to bring BrokerageAmerica into the top three in the broker/dealer community," Battaglia contended.
"He has the best reputation for building a broker/dealer sales team,"
Bora Sultan, senior vice president for strategic business development and execution quality, also told the MutualFundWire.com. "We are giving him the flexibility to do what he needs to do. He has full rein." Sultan joined the firm from
Fidelity in November.
"We are ramping up the institutional side of our business. We are really looking to make our mark in this arena," Sultan added. Battaglia's position is a new one for the firm.
Battaglia will also be building a team to support his efforts. BrokerageAmerica will be looking for individuals to fill broker/dealer sales positions and their assistants. Sultan added that other additions to the executive suite at BrokerageAmerica will be announced shortly.
The new executive's field will span a number of product lines including separate accounts and, in the near future, hedge funds.
Battaglia presently serves on the Board of Directors of the
Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) and is chairman of the Association's annual dinner. Further, he is a member of the
Institutional Equities Traders Association of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His duties at BrokerageAmerica extend to both the United States and Canada.
