Direxion Heads to an ETF Service Provider

A new player just dove into the ETF space, and they've chosen a firm to service their new offerings. On Wednesday BNY Mellon Asset Servicing revealed that it has been tapped by Direxion Funds manager Rafferty Asset Management to handle accounting, administration, basket calculation, custody and transfer agency for the newly launched Large Cap Bear 3x Shares, Large Cap Bull 3x Shares, Small Cap Bear 3x Shares and Small Cap Bull 3x Shares, which became available on NYSE Arca last week (see MFWire, November 5, 2008).

BNY Mellon Asset Servicing, the global leader in securities servicing, announced today that it has been selected by Direxion Funds to provide comprehensive exchange traded funds (ETF) services including custody, accounting, fund administration, basket calculation and transfer agency. The new funds are aimed at providing investors with three times the daily performance or inverse performance, before fees and expenses, of their underlying indices.
