Mutual fund stocks had a weak opening Friday morning in the wake of this week's market turbulence. Eight of the 19 publicly-traded mutual fund firms tracked by the
MFWire were down more than two percent in the first hour of trading.
The biggest loser in the early trading was T.Rowe, which lost 5.7 percent as of 10:30 this morning.
Other firms which saw declines were Franklin Resources, down 3 percent; Invesco, 3.7 percent; Janus, 3.7 percent; Eaton Vance, 2 percent; Affiliated Managers Group, 6.1 percent; Cohen & Steers, 2.5 percent and BlackRock, 2.1 percent.
