Northern Trust has promoted one of its own to lead its quantitative investments. The Chicago-based asset manager
announced Monday that it has elevated
Steven A. Schoenfeld to the position of chief investment officer for its Global Quantitative Management unit, putting him in charge of "investment performance across Northern Trust's index, enhanced and quantitative active products," which totals $214 billion in AUM. Schoenfeld reports to Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI) global CIO
Orie Dudley and Global Quantitative Management head
Michael Vardas.
NTGI president
Terry Toth said that Schoenfeld's promotion is well-deserved.
"Steven Schoenfeld has been a dynamic leader of our quantitative investment team," Toth stated, "and his new title and duties recognize that leadership."
Schoenfeld joined Northern Trust in 2004 as its chief investment strategist. He previously founded two companies, served as a managing director at Barclays Global Investors, and worked at the International Finance Corporation/World Bank.
