A one-time
Putnam chief financial officer who left the firm in 2004 has a new CFO position.
Irene Esteves will join
Wachovia's
Capital Management Group, which encompasses the financial giant's
Evergreen mutual fund business.
She replaces
Emile Shahadi, who had announced his retirement, in overseeing all finance operations the Group handles, including retail brokerage, asset management, retirement services and securities lending.
Esteves will report to
David Carroll, president of the Capital Management Group, and work closely with Wachovia Corporation CFO
Thomas Wurtz.
