Stephen Cutler, the former Director of Enforcement at the SEC, will join the Washington D.C office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, the law firm he was a partner at before joining the SEC in 1999.

Cutler will join the firm in the fall as co-chair of the securities department, sharing the role with another ex-director of the enforcement division, William R. McLucas. McLucas led the division from 1990 to 1998.
