T. Rowe Price is closing its Mid-Cap Value Fund to new investors. The soft close will allow existing investors to continue to contribute to the fund.
The Baltimore-based fund firm said it closed the fund to prevent large inflows from impairing the portfolio manager's ability to fund undervalued mid-cap stocks. Assets in the fund have jumped to $5.1 billion from $2.0 billion a year ago and just $529 million in 2003.
