David Antonelli has been promoted to chief equity officer at MFS Investment Management.

Antonelli, formerly senior vice president, director of global equity research at MFS, retains his duties as portfolio manager of the MFS International New Discovery Fund; Edgard Barksdale and Peter Fruzzetti will join the management of the fund.

David Calabro, lead manager for MFS' Total Return Fund, will retire on February 28, 2005. Brooks Tayler will take over lead management of the fund.
