Greg King and his team are rolling out their third covered call ETF.
| Greg King REX Financial Founder, CEO | |
On Wednesday (December 4), King, CEO of
REX Financial (home of REX Shares) [
profile],
unveiled the
launch of the
REX Crypto Equity Premium Income ETF (CEPI on
Nasdaq). REX Advisers, LLC (a Fairfield, Connecticut-based subsidiary of Miami-based REX Financial) serves as investment advisor to CEPI, while Atlanta-based
Vident Asset Management [
profile] serves as subadvisor.
CEPI's inception date was Wednesday, and the active ETF comes with an expense ratio of 85 basis points. As of yesterday (December 5, i.e. day 2), CEPI had $2.022 million in AUM.
The PM team for CEPI includes
Yin Bhuyan and
Austin Wen, both senior portfolio managers at Vident.
The launch of CEPI comes about a year after the REX team
launched their first covered call ETF (which has grown to
$434 million in AUM) and about six months they
launched their second (which now has about
$153 million in AUM). Like those first two funds (which are also supported by Vident), CEPI is designed to generate monthly income (via an options strategy) combined with an exposure to a growth-oriented asset class (cryptocurrency companies this time).
King puts the rollout of CEPI in the context of the digital assets space "transforming financial ecosystems and creating unique investment opportunities."
"With CEPI, we're applying our targeted covered call strategy to the sector’s most disruptive companies, creating new opportunities for income generation," King states. "We remain committed to building first-of-their-kind tools to help traders and investors harness opportunities in the market."
CEPI's other service providers include:
Cohen & Company, Ltd. as independent accounting firm;
Commonwealth Fund Services, Inc. as administrator; ACA's
Foreside Fund Services, Inc. as distributor;
Practus LLP as counsel;
U.S. Bancorp Global Fund Services as fund accountant; and
U.S. Bank National Association as custodian, dividend disbursing agent, and transfer agent.
