On Friday,
Debbie Fuhr, managing partner at
ETFGI,
revealed her team's estimate that the U.S. ETF industry would close out 2023 with a record of more than $8.1 trillion in AUM. That's up from $6.5 trillion at the end of 2022.
The ETFGI team also forecast that worldwide ETF AUM would end 2023 at a new record of more than $11.5 trillion. That would make U.S. ETF AUM about 70.4 percent of total worldwide ETF AUM.
Worldwide ETF AUM in 2023 was up more than 24 percent from $9.26 trillion at the end of 2022, the ETFGI team predicted. And they predict 2023 year-end figures will show more than $938 billion in 2023 ETF inflows worldwide, the second highest ever (after $1.29 trillion in 2021.)
December 2023 was expected to be the global ETF industry's 55th
consecutive month of inflows.
