A Boston-based veteran with more than 25 years of
experience in the strategist and mutual fund areas is transferring his skills to a Miami-based firm.

Gary Shilman is joining
Potomac Fund Management as director of key accounts,
MFWire has learned. Shilman started his new role on July 31, reporting to Potomac chief growth officer
Jeff Goodnow, who leads Potomac's internal and external sales team, Goodnow tells
MFWire in an email.
Shilman did not respond to an email for comment.
Shilman most recently worked with Lincoln, Massachusetts-based
BTS Asset Management for more than two decades, with positions that include chief compliance officer and strategic accounts director.
Mark Bentley, executive vice president and head of distribution at BTS, did not respond to a call and an email for comment.
At Potomac, Shilman was hired because he "has extensive experience" in the key accounts role opening distribution, for "both strategies and mutual funds in the tactical management space," says Goodnow.
With Potomac having reached the $1-billion-AUM threshold, the team decided to create the position that Shilman has filled, as part of a strategy to expand further "with a complete sales team to support advisors in the field," Goodnow says. Shilman's duties include increasing TAMP distribution for both Potomac strategies and its
Conquer Risk mutual funds, as well as building relationships with additional broker-dealers and RIAs who may have their own internal TAMP, Goodnow says. The goal continues to be "helping more advisors and their clients conquer risk," Goodnow adds.
Isaac Braley, president at BTS Asset Management, wished Shilman "Best of luck" in response to an
announcement on LinkedIn. Shilman wrote back, "Enjoyed working with you for all the many years."
In addition to having worked at BTS, Shilman also worked for Delta Equity Services Corporation. He is an alumnus of McGill University.
