John Raitt has been named president of The Oakmark Funds, according to Harris Associates L.P., the funds’ investment adviser.

The appointment completes a transition that began earlier this year. On January 1, Raitt will succeed Robert Levy, who currently serves as Harris chairman and chief investment officer

Raitt, is currently Harris president and chief executive officer. He was the firm's research director for five years and also served as a research analyst. He also served as the firm's coo for a year from September 2001 to December 2002.
