Last month,
Parallelle Finance released its
Gender Lens Investing 2021 report, subtitled "supporting a women-focused recovery." The 28-page report offers an overview of where GLI stood at the end of 2020 worldwide.
The report, authoered by
Marypat Thenell Smucker and
Angela Atherton, notes that AUM in publicly-traded gender lens equity funds reached $2.67 billion at the end of 2020. That included $1.1 billion in the eight such funds available to U.S. investors, the biggest of which is the
Pax Ellevate Global Women's Leadership Fund ($748 million in AUM as of year-end). AUM in existing funds grew 40 percent last year.
The report also digs into the performance of gender lens equity funds. And it highlights some of such funds' differences when compared with the broader fund universe. (For example, 48 percent of gender lens equity funds PMs are women, compared to 14 percent of PMs overall.)
